“He is perfect for you, I promise!”  Jessika’s friend was shamelessly trying to convince her to agree to a blind date with Vincent, knowing they would hit it off.  “His name is Vinny and he has spiky hair”, Jessika shot back.  “I just don’t think we will be a great fit.”  It wasn’t until a few months later that Jessika realized just how wrong she had been.

On a night out with mutual friends, Jessika and Vincent finally met.  Surprised and excited by how much they had in common, Jessika agreed to one date, and then another!  Pretty soon the two were inseparable.  One beautiful day, Jessika walked into her NYC apartment to find it filled with candles, sunflowers, and a chilled bottle of champagne.  When Vincent got down on one knee to propose, she agreed with her whole heart as a huge smile spread across her face.  This sweet couple is tying the knot at the Boathouse in Central Park next weekend and I couldn’t be happier for them.

A couple of months ago I had the honor of capturing Jessika and Vincent’s sweet sunrise Long Island City engagement photos.  Check out a few of my favorites below!

Since sunflowers were such an important part of Jessika and Vincent’s proposal, we had to include one in their engagement session!

LOVE.

After exploring their new neighborhood in Long Island City, we headed to Cranky’s Cafe for a little breakfast!

Thank you again Jessika and Vincent for allowing me to spend a fun morning with you!  I can’t wait to see you at your beautiful wedding next weekend. 🙂

I woke up this morning at 6:30am and couldn’t believe the day was finally here.  I was going to Brazil.  No…more enthusiasm.  I AM GOING TO BRAZIL!!!  (That might have been post gingerbread latte.) 🙂  When I started my business two and a half years ago I dreamed of traveling the world to photograph weddings.  This June I had the honor of capturing Brittany and Aaron‘s beautiful day in Florence, Italy, and this weekend I will be documenting Carol and Eder’s gorgeous wedding in Brazil.  The couple will be tying the knot in Sao Paulo on Saturday and then heading to Costa Verde Tabatinga, a stunning private beach nearby.  I can’t wait to share the images from their incredible day.  Thank you Carol and Eder for your help in making my dreams come true.  I will see you soon!

“Find something you love to do and you will never work a day in your life.”  I’ve heard this since I was young but I feel like I didn’t discover it for myself until photography.  Summer and fall have been a crazy whirlwind of incredible weddings and engagements and I have loved every minute of it!

This weekend I had my first weekend off since June 1st.  (Okay, technically I photographed a sunrise engagement session Saturday morning…but from 10am on Saturday to midnight on Sunday I was officially off!)  I had forgotten how nice it is to do the little things like rake leaves with my husband Matt, rent a funny movie on demand, make breakfast before church, and walk through the mall looking for shoes.  Matt and I even had the opportunity to play tennis on Sunday afternoon!  I kicked his butt by the way. 🙂  As much as I love photography, it was so nice and refreshing to have a few days to focus on the other things I love too.  I am feeling so thankful for this weekend.

Olha and Nazar might be one of the most adorable couples EVER!  With their warm personalities and obvious way they so freely love each other, spending time with them is truly a gift.  This summer I had the pleasure of photographing their gorgeous engagement session at Duke Farms.  After meandering through fields of beautiful wild flowers, Olha and Nazar changed into traditional Ukrainian outfits.  I fell in love with the vibrant colors, and of course, Olha’s incredible flower head piece that she weaved together herself!  Check out a few of my favorite photos from my time with Olha and Nazar below. 🙂

Olha and Nazar’s admiration for one another is beautiful.  It is obvious they care and respect each other very much.

Olha, your warm smile is seriously contagious!  Being around you lights up my day.

How gorgeous are these traditional Ukrainian outfits?!

LOVE.

Olha and Nazar, thank you for allowing me to capture your traditional Ukrainian engagement photos!  I had such a blast and I can’t wait to share your beautiful wedding photos soon. 🙂
